Day 9 April Poetry Month Poem-A-Day

prompt: a hunter/hunted poem

He hunts answers.
They call to him
from forest undergrowth.
It is not that they want
to attract his notice
but they cannot help
chittering among themselves
sorting out who sleeps
with whom, who spends
the time as sentry.

Thus they see him coming
and set out to distract.
They are the answers, so
respond only to questions.
